Frequently Asked Questions

We get asked a lot of the same questions on a startlingly regular basis!

To save our time and yours, please please please take the time to read through this list of commonly asked questions. Chances are your query will be among them.

When are the meets?

LondonFur meets are every three weeks. Visit our friends over at furmeets.co.uk for a full list of upcoming meets. The next meet is on Saturday June 9th.

Where are the meets?

The meets are currently held at Jamies Bar, Fleet Place. The nearest tube station is St. Pauls on the Central Line.

See our venue page for details on how to get there.

Is there a fee/charge to attend?

There is no fee or charge to attend the meets. We do occasionally run collections to help fund our other events, and any donations are at your discretion. Please do give generously, though. :)

Do I need to bring ID?

For the normal meets, the answer is "probably." If you wish to purchase/consume alcohol during the course of the meet, it's advisable to ensure that you have a suitable proof of age with you. It's also useful to have ID if you think you might be mistaken for being under the age of 16.

When attending one of our special events (such as the Summer or Winter party), the answer is an unequivocal "Yes." The venues we rent for these events have their own security and it's a condition of hire that all of our attendees produce proof of age on the door.

If you don't bring ID to the parties, you will be turned away.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

You must be at least 16 years old to attend our meets. For some special events, such as the Christmas and Summer parties, a higher limit (usually 18) will apply.

Can I bring my non-furry friend along?

Of course, so long as they meet our entry requirements (no journalists please!) and comply with our Terms and Conditions.

I work for a newspaper/magazine/TV station/some other media outlet. Can I interview/film/take photographs?

Members of the press and others wishing to document our events in a professional capacity must obtain written permission from the LondonFurs Committee in advance. For more information about press relations please see our Press page.

Commercial photography at any LondonFurs meet/event is strictly prohibited.

Can I bring my own food/drink along?

The consumption of any food or drink that is not purchased from the venue is not allowed. This is in order to stay within the terms of the venue's licensing arrangements.

Who can I speak to if I have a question on the day?

Our staff members can usually be found sporting their rather spiffy bright red LondonFurs Staff t-shirts. Feel free to approach any of us if you've got any queries or concerns during a meet or event. Failing that (we don't wear them all the time!) you can see what we look like over on our Staff page.
