As you are all aware the furmeets rely on us having a good relationship with our venue Jamies and their parent management company. We have a responsibility as a client to act in a way that’s in accordance with their rules while upholding a mutual professional respect, after they have provided us with a regular home for our meets for almost a decade.
This responsibility is transferred onto you as attendees, the terms and conditions we have on our website are designed to protect not just you as customers, but our relationship with the venue as well – terms you have accepted by attending. This ensures the continued existence of our furmeets for your enjoyment and ours.
Regretfully, several incidents have been reported to us by Jamies at a senior level that have not only severely damaged this long-standing relationship but have been serious enough to warrant us taking drastic action in restitution.
These incidents include the theft of beverages from Jamies Too, and more seriously the theft of a tablet device at our last meet that was being stored behind the bar within the same area. This was used as a media control device for the venue and because of this, LondonFurs Ltd has been asked for (and has agreed to pay) damages to Jamies to replace the missing device.
As a result, LondonFurs Ltd has been asked by the venue’s management company to close Jamies Too indefinitely with immediate effect, until such times as the tablet has been returned to us or the venue.
Due to the popularity of the LondonFurs meets and the sheer number of current attendees, we cannot support a changing area within the main bar and we will not be able to accommodate fursuiter changing at all on the premises.
With the recent accusations of theft from Jamies Too – from attendees and now the proven case from the venue themselves – we agree this is the most prudent course of action at this time.
We are acutely aware that suiting is a large part of the enjoyment of the furmeets and we are painfully aware that this situation could cause catastrophic damage to our meets. After so many years this is a terrible and sad moment.
We can only say openly to whomever has taken the device: come forward – anonymously or through a proxy if you wish – and return what you have taken. You are directly threatening the enjoyment of hundreds of people across the country, and the future of LondonFurs meets as a whole.
You can contact us by mailing to [email protected] where we can arrange a place to deliver the device, or to hand it over in person.
Conversely, if anyone is aware of any information that could help us in retrieving the device please come forward to the same email address.
Edit for the sheer number of repeat questions: No, there is no CCTV in Jamies Too.
